Full job description:
Due to an internal promotion we now have a vacancy for an HR Assistant within our HR Team based at our Head Office in Crowborough. Edwards and Ward are a contract catering company who provide school dinners in primary and secondary schools throughout the South East, South West, London, Oxfordshire and the Midlands, and catering for some additional B&I sites.
We are currently looking for an organised and efficient administrator to assist our small HR team with the smooth running of the HR department. Training will be provided. This position will report to the Head of Human Resources.
Duties:
- Onboarding – obtaining references for all new starters; DBS processing for new starters and renewals.
- Safeguarding – produce letters from template when required.
- HR admin – chasing and processing sickness/absence forms and return to work meeting forms.
- Tracking probations and producing letters. Absence and holiday management. Maintain various trackers.
- Assisting with general HR and Payroll admin duties.
- Covering incoming telephone calls.
The successful candidate should be very organised and able to cope with a multi-functional role. Accuracy is important and someone who is personable, with administrative/office experience. Proficient experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is also required.

Hours:
Monday to Friday – 9am to 4.30pm with half hour paid lunch break. Early finish every Friday at 4pm.
Annual salary range:
Circa £24,000-25,000.
